Sanctuary Tulum is a licensed integrative healing center in Tulum, Mexico, operating since 2011. This page summarizes the mental-health, dependency, and behavioral-addiction issues we work with, and how our private, one-on-one model differs from conventional group-based treatment.

Issues We Treat and Conditions We Heal at Sanctuary Tulum — Burn Out & High Stress, Depression & Anxiety, Trauma & PTSD, Addiction Recovery, Benzodiazepine Dependency, SSRI & Medication Dependency, Autoimmune Conditions, and Spiritual Reconnection

People arrive at Sanctuary Tulum after conventional care has fallen short — long stretches on SSRIs without relief, benzodiazepine prescriptions that became dependencies, opioid tapers that failed, repeated inpatient stays, or years of talk-therapy without lasting change. The common thread is not weakness. It is a treatment model that rarely addresses the underlying biology, neurochemistry, and trauma at the same time.

Our approach is integrative and individualized. Every client receives more than 35 hours per week of one-on-one care — coaching, bodywork, nervous-system regulation, and, where clinically appropriate and legally permitted in Mexico, medically supervised plant-medicine work through the Pouyan Method™. We do not diagnose disease, do not prescribe pharmaceutical medications, and do not make cure claims. What we offer is structure, privacy, and the time it takes to do this work properly.

    What We Work With

The issues below are the ones we most commonly work with. Each is approached through the same integrative lens — biology, neurochemistry, trauma, and lifestyle — rather than as a symptom to be suppressed.

    Depression

Integrative support for major depressive disorder and treatment-resistant depression through neurochemistry restoration, trauma-focused work, and daily somatic practice.

    PTSD & Complex Trauma

Private, one-on-one trauma work for combat, first-responder, medical, developmental, and relational PTSD — without group disclosure formats.

    Anxiety & Panic

Nervous-system regulation, breathwork, and neurochemistry support for generalized anxiety, panic, and chronic stress physiology.

    Benzodiazepine Dependency

Medically supervised benzodiazepine tapering and withdrawal support — including Xanax, Klonopin, Ativan, and Valium — using the Pouyan Method™.

    Alcohol Dependency

Confidential, non-12-step alcohol recovery in a private oceanfront setting, with medical supervision and integrative therapies.

    Opioid & Oxycodone Dependency

Root-cause work for opioid dependency — including prescription oxycodone, hydrocodone, and stronger synthetics — without replacement medications like methadone or Suboxone as a long-term strategy.

    SSRI & Antidepressant Dependency

Structured, medically monitored support for individuals seeking to discontinue long-term SSRI or SNRI use.

    Compulsive Sexual Behavior

Discreet, private care for compulsive sexual behavior disorder — trauma-informed and delivered one-on-one.

    Gambling Addiction

Behavioral addiction care for problem gambling, sports betting, and online casino compulsions.

    Shopping Addiction

Structured support for compulsive buying and spending behaviors and the underlying emotional drivers.

    Pornography Compulsion

Private, non-shaming treatment for compulsive pornography use as a neurochemical and trauma-based condition.

    Crypto & Day-Trading Compulsion

Behavioral addiction care for compulsive crypto trading, day-trading, and speculative markets behavior.

    What We Do Not Do

    • • We do not diagnose medical diseases
    • • We do not prescribe or administer pharmaceutical medications
    • • We do not use group therapy, 12-step formats, or shared disclosure circles
    • • We do not claim to cure any condition, and we do not make outcome guarantees
    • • We do not treat neurological, autoimmune, cardiovascular, endocrine, or infectious diseases — those belong with your physician

    How Care Is Delivered

All care is delivered privately in Jungle Villa or our oceanfront setting under medical supervision. Programs run 4 to 16 weeks depending on severity, dependency history, and goals. The clinical spine combines coaching, somatic and bodywork sessions, IV support protocols, HBOT and adjunctive modalities, and — where clinically appropriate and legally permitted in Mexico — plant-medicine work through the Pouyan Method™.

For a full description of the modalities we combine, see our complete list of treatments, the Brain Repair IV protocol, and NAD+ IV therapy. Program tiers and duration are outlined on the packages and prices page. For substance dependency specifically, see our holistic addiction treatment program and, for alcohol dependency, our luxury alcohol treatment center.

    Who This Program Is For

Clients typically arrive at Sanctuary Tulum after months or years of conventional care that never resolved the underlying issue. Many have completed multiple inpatient stays. Many are on long-term benzodiazepines, SSRIs, opioids, or stimulants and want a structured, medically monitored path to reduce or discontinue them. Others come after a life crisis — a marriage collapse, a business failure, a health scare, or the death of someone close to them — and know that returning to normal life without meaningful intervention is not realistic. Our model is designed for adults who want privacy, individualized care, and the time it takes to resolve root causes.

We also work with high-visibility clients — executives, founders, public figures, physicians, attorneys, and athletes — for whom traditional group-based treatment is not a viable option. All intake, communication, and treatment records are handled under strict medical confidentiality, and we never place clients in shared therapy formats.

What A Program Looks Like Day-To-Day

A typical week combines private coaching sessions, hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), IV nutrition and NAD+ IV therapy, daily bodywork and therapeutic massage, contrast therapy including cold plunge and infrared sauna, and where clinically appropriate, Ayahuasca, Ibogaine, 5-MeO-DMT, or psilocybin sessions delivered under medical supervision. Programs are organized around the Pouyan Method™, our proprietary integrative framework refined over more than a decade of one-on-one clinical work.

Care is delivered in a private oceanfront setting, with sleep, nutrition, movement, and nervous-system regulation built into the daily structure. Nutrition is organic, non-GMO, and prepared on-site. Sleep is prioritized. Screens and phones are managed. The environment itself is treated as a clinical variable — one that most inpatient facilities ignore entirely.

How To Take The Next Step

If you or a family member is considering Sanctuary Tulum, the first step is a confidential admissions call. During that call we review medical history, current medications, treatment history, and goals. If the program is a fit, we outline the recommended duration and package tier and coordinate travel and intake. You can begin that conversation on the Apply Now page, or review pricing and program tiers on the packages and prices page.
