What Makes a Luxury Mental Health Center Truly Different
Most facilities that call themselves a "luxury mental health center" simply add nicer bedrooms to the same broken model — SSRIs, benzodiazepines, group therapy, and 30-day programs that leave guests dependent on medications and returning again and again.
At Sanctuary Tulum, luxury mental health treatment means something radically different: a fully private oceanfront estate where you are the sole focus of an entire medical and therapeutic team. Zero pharmaceuticals. Zero group therapy. Zero cookie-cutter protocols. Every hour of every day is calibrated to your neurochemistry, trauma history, and healing goals.

Absolute Privacy for High-Profile Clients
For executives, entrepreneurs, celebrities, professional athletes, and public figures, discretion is non-negotiable. Standard psychiatric facilities cannot guarantee privacy — records leak, staff talk, and group settings destroy anonymity.
At Sanctuary Tulum, confidentiality is absolute. Our private oceanfront estate accommodates only a small number of guests at any time, each with their own luxury suite. No group sessions, no shared therapy rooms, no public rosters. Your healing journey is entirely your own.

What the Evidence Shows About Psychedelic-Assisted Approaches to Depression
Interest in psilocybin and other classic psychedelics as tools for treatment-resistant depression has grown substantially over the past decade, and systematic reviews and meta-analyses of randomized controlled trials report meaningful short-to-medium-term reductions in depressive symptoms for many participants. That evidence base is real, but it is also still developing — trial sizes remain modest, long-term durability data is limited, and psilocybin is not FDA-approved for the treatment of depression in the United States. Sanctuary Tulum's clinical team discusses this openly with guests during intake rather than presenting these therapies as a guaranteed fix.
The same caution applies to how these protocols are delivered. Emerging clinical guidance on psychedelic-assisted treatment emphasizes careful screening, medical supervision, and integration support as core to safety and outcomes — not the substance alone. That is the structural reason our program pairs any plant-medicine work with continuous medical oversight, licensed under COFEPRIS, and a dedicated integration process rather than a single isolated session.
Who This Program Is — and Is Not — a Fit For
A private, plant-medicine-informed, medication-free model is not the right setting for every presentation. Guests in active psychosis, in acute suicidal crisis, or with certain unstabilized cardiac conditions require a different level of acute psychiatric or emergency care than a residential program of this kind is designed to provide, and our medical team screens for these during intake. Being turned away or redirected to a higher level of acute care is, in those cases, the safer and more honest outcome than accepting every applicant regardless of fit.
For guests who are a clinical fit, tapering off existing psychiatric medication — when appropriate and medically supervised — is planned individually and gradually rather than abruptly, in coordination with each guest's psychiatric history. We do not encourage guests to stop prescribed medication on their own before or after a program, and our medical team coordinates directly with outside prescribers when guests wish to continue that relationship.
