Luxury Rehab · Santa Clara County Guide
Luxury Rehabs for Santa Clara County Residents
For founders, engineers and families in San Jose, Los Gatos and across Santa Clara County: the private programs worth considering, near and far.
This county guide serves residents comparing a San Jose admission site, another Santa Clara County location, or care farther away. It does not assume a shared substance-use pattern or occupational background. Start with a qualified assessment and use the residential program overview to compare individual care, accommodation and continuity before narrowing the geography.
Sanctuary Tulum publishes this guide and includes its own program first. Sanctuary Tulum is based in Tulum, Mexico and does not operate a California facility. The second entry is affiliated, not another independent county facility. Other profiles use provider websites; current credentials, admission timing and services were not independently audited. Numbers show editorial order. Start a U.S. search through FindTreatment.gov before you commit.

1. Sanctuary Tulum: when you need to fully log off
The hardest thing for many Silicon Valley clients is not the treatment. It is stepping away from the work. Sanctuary Tulum gives you a clean break: a private master suite, a team that works with you one-on-one every day, and a medically supervised and licensed facility on the ocean. There is no group therapy and there are no shared rooms.
Our approach, the Pouyan Method™, is a trademarked protocol our founder has developed over about fifteen years. It is designed to support the brain and nervous system as well as recovery from the substance itself. It may include medically supervised detox, hyperbaric oxygen, IV nutrient therapy, bodywork and an organic nutrition program, chosen for each person during admission. Clients fly from SJC or SFO.
Who this San Jose and Santa Clara County guide is for
San Jose is one of the largest cities in the United States, with close to a million residents, and the center of Santa Clara County, home to roughly 1.9 million people according to the U.S. Census Bureau. The county also includes Cupertino, Sunnyvale, Palo Alto, Los Gatos and Saratoga. Many people here work long hours in high-pressure tech roles, and the programs they call about often involve alcohol, stimulants, or dependence on prescribed sleep and anxiety medication, including benzodiazepines. The CDC notes that benzodiazepine misuse is common and risky when combined with other substances (see its overview). Stopping these medications suddenly can be dangerous, so any taper should be medically supervised.

2. Holistic Sanctuary: where the one-on-one model began
Publisher disclosure: this is an affiliated program sharing Sanctuary Tulum's founder and care philosophy, not an independently ranked second-best provider. Number 2 indicates the existing editorial order, not a quality score or a separate local facility.
Holistic Sanctuary (holisticsanctuary.com) is the flagship program that Sanctuary Tulum grew out of. For about fifteen years it has offered fully individualized, one-on-one residential care for addiction, medication dependency, depression, anxiety and trauma, with no group therapy and no replacement-drug protocols.
For Santa Clara County families comparing programs, it is the same founder, the same Pouyan Method™ and the same medical philosophy as Sanctuary Tulum. Sanctuary Tulum is its luxury evolution, with private oceanfront suites.

What makes Sanctuary Tulum different from other Santa Clara County luxury rehabs?
Most luxury rehabs in Santa Clara County upgrade the setting but keep the conventional model: group sessions, a standard 28- to 30-day schedule and, often, medication to manage symptoms. Sanctuary Tulum takes a different approach. Every client gets one-on-one care. There is no group therapy and no pharmaceutical maintenance protocol. Meals follow an organic, whole-food nutrition program instead of standard institutional food. The aim is to support the body and nervous system, not just manage symptoms. Here is how that works in practice.

Meet the Founder, Johnny Tabaie
Johnny Tabaie is not a doctor. He is a self-taught researcher and educator. In 2001 his brother David died by suicide while in a conventional treatment center, on a medication with a documented suicide-risk warning. Johnny spent the next twenty years self-funding research into holistic and integrative medicine, used it to heal himself, and then built Holistic Sanctuary and Sanctuary Tulum so other families would have a medically supervised alternative.

Pouyan Method™
The Pouyan Method™ is Johnny's proprietary, trademarked protocol. It combines medically supervised detox, nervous-system support and trauma-focused integration in a daily schedule built around one person. Depending on the client, that may include hyperbaric oxygen, IV nutrient therapy, bodywork, yoga, meditation and nutrition. Not every client receives every therapy. The plan is set after an individual medical review.

Brain Repair IV Drip Protocol
The Brain Repair IV Drip Protocol is a proprietary IV formula made from natural alkaloids, peptides and amino compounds. It is designed to support the brain and nervous system during detox from alcohol, opioids, stimulants and benzodiazepines, the stage where many people relapse. It is separate from our NAD+, glutathione and vitamin C IVs, and it is always given under medical supervision.

Small estate or full-service campus?
The South Bay has both kinds of program. Large campuses such as MDCR offer more services under one roof. Small homes and estates such as Summit or Magnolia offer more attention per person. Neither is better for everyone. What matters is how many hours each week you will spend one-on-one with a qualified clinician, and who is medically responsible for you overnight.
Check any California program's license with the Department of Health Care Services, and look for Joint Commission or CARF accreditation.

Alcohol, stimulants and sleep medication
Tell the assessing clinician about alcohol, other substances and every current prescription without assuming a typical Silicon Valley pattern. Alcohol withdrawal can be dangerous; do not stop medications or arrange an unsupervised detox based on a comparison guide. ASAM's withdrawal guidance addresses clinical setting and continuing care. The NIAAA Alcohol Treatment Navigator is a neutral place to start. Read about Sanctuary Tulum's luxury detox center and luxury alcohol rehab programs.

Making the call
How many one-on-one hours a week? Who is the medical director? Private room or shared? What is the plan for the day you leave? Write the answers down and compare programs side by side.

County coverage, San Jose admission and continuing care
Santa Clara County is the geographic scope of this guide; San Jose is one admission-location question within it, not a separate competing roundup. Ask for the legal operator and address of the residential site, and separately identify any outpatient office. A provider advertising service to county residents may be physically elsewhere.
Use DHCS facility licensing guidance for covered California residential alcohol and drug programs. A license, accreditation and a clinician's professional credential are separate checks. For care abroad, request the applicable jurisdiction and authorized services; California licensing does not transfer internationally.
Before admission, identify who will arrange follow-up near home and whether referrals, records and consent-based family communication are included. Compare these answers with our provider-question guide and itemized cost questions, rather than making another city shortlist.
